This article explores the ongoing debate about colonialism's influence on development practices. While formal colonialism may be over, the essay argues that development efforts like international aid programs can resemble a new form of colonialism.  By examining the power dynamics of bilateral and multilateral aid, the essay will investigate whether development creates a sense of ownership for developing countries or reinforces existing inequalities. Ultimately, the study aims to contribute to discussions about achieving a more equitable approach to development.
